Hush, She's Resting

I found her resting in the vines, resting and restoring herself for the next show. Each day she'll grow a little rounder, a little fuller, a little brighter until she's ready for her Harvest Show. Rest well little Moon. Be safe and secure in your viney bed.

Moon, worn thin to the width of a quill,
In the dawn of clouds flying,
How good to go, light into light, and still
Giving light, dying. (sara teasdale)

Funny...my children will study some poems this year from Sara. This is a lovely sight to behold - hopefully little critters won't fill their bellies on this beauty. Is it a pumpkin or other type of squash?

Oh so lovely. Boohoo for me tho ... critter(s) got every last stinkken veggie in my garden this year. And all the tomatoes were still GREEN even. Picked right off the vines. Peas, beans, lettuce. EVERYthing. Bugger. I only have your beautiful squash to look at. :(
