Small Shots

Hoping that all of you are having a lovely week. It's been beautiful here today. Warm but not unbearable and the smoke from all of the wild fires has stayed away for the last few days, for which I am very thankful. I do think of all of the communities that are suffering such unbelievable hardships, fright and loss in this summer of unending heat and drought. It's like living in a tinder box, just waiting for Mother Nature to strike the match.
Love to all, Ellen,

I am sitting here eating my morning tea and toast, looking out on our lane, it is awash with rain, pelting down. Someone somewhere has got the weather mixed up. I complain about the rain, but then I wouldn't be British if I didnt, it is a national sport, but I am grateful that we get few extremes. It must be very frightening to think of forest fires and the like. Ellen your photographs are a joy. Much love to you this wednesday morning. xxx

I really enjoyed your close-up photos, Ellen. I think my favorite is the wheat. I hope the fires stay away from where you are. Did you know that we have smoke all the way down here in New Mexico from those fires? It has cleared up some, since the wind switched to the south, but it was terrible over this past weekend. I hope you are having a good week so far, take care.

Your pictures are amazing, Ellen. It must be very disheartening to smell the smoke and yet to be unable to do anything to help with it. So sad...

Hi Ellen, What a wonderful eye you have - capturing such beauty!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my last post (I am way out of date with posting). I'm doing OK, though August 12 was the 3 year anniversary of my losing Gerrit and the date of this post of yours, August 25, is his birthday. So some tearful days for me. But I'm still so grateful that he was released from his horrible illness at last. Thanks for checking in on me - you are a dear.

Wishing you, as others have, some rain and respite from the awful conditions you all are living through.
