No Rescue Required

She is of this world,
but not in this world.
What she has right now
is what she wants.
She has music
and her beloved books,
pen and paper at hand
for the writing of poems,
stories and daily observances.

She has her sun-yellow canaries,
Heloise and Abelard,
and her ginger cat.

Her door may be locked,
but she has the key.

She has her spinning and weaving.
She is solitary but never lonely.
She is happy, but more importantly,
she is deeply content.
These friends bring her anything
she might need.

This is her home
and it is in her heart.

Ellen.

I think that's how I would feel if I were locked away in a tower with books, and needle and thread, pen and paper, bits of nature brought to me by forest folk…
I think I know her secret identity little e!

Forgot to mention the Newfies, you have two as well! They are great dogs, we had one before them, Sarge, we lost him 2 1/2 years ago he was nearly 12. Do have pictures of yours on your blog?

Beautiful words, beautiful pictures. The image of Rapunzel just reminded me of something that happened a few days ago. My daughter was misbehaving, so I took away her favorite stuffed animal (a teddy bear in a tutu) and placed it up high on the mantel above our fireplace. She kept calling for it, "Tutu? Are you ok?" At one point, she walked up the fireplace and called up to the bear, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair!" So dramatic. :)
