Sometimes We Are As Fragile As This...

...my husband stapled his finger
weeks ago.
The staple was not an office sized one.
It was the Hummer of staple size,
the rhino of industrial size.
His finger swelled up.
He thought it was better.
Days went by.
His palm and wrist turned red.
He eventually had it looked at.
(Thank goodness.)
They diagnosed Cellulitis.
I had never heard about it.
It is not a good thing to have.
Hospital, lots of antibiotics intravenously.
He's been home with many more medications.
A huge stapler made such a tiny
hole.
You could not even see it.
Mighty things happen
from such infinitesimal wounds.
So frightening,
but all is well.

Best to all, e.

I'm glad he is well. I'm sure he is going to be extra careful with staplers from now on!

Good grief staplers should come with a government health warning!

Glad Docs were able to sort him out and he is on the road to recovery.

Oh my goodness Ellen! Please pass on my best wishes to him, how horrible - glad he is alright though, what IS it about men and getting things seen to?

OUCH!! Glad to hear he is on the mend! It seems like there are two kind of patients, the ones that go to the doctor over a hangnail, and then the ones like your husband...

Oh, yuck. These lessons of our fragility are never easy are they. Glad to see he's on the mend. Hope you're all repairing well in hand and spirit!
