of my Pablo Picasso Pear.
Quite redundant,
but nonetheless,
the colors warm me.
In the gray
that is most of our days here,
in the foggy soup of our winter,
punctuated by hopeful blue skies
and wet cold,
this little pear has given me
joy in the moment.
Joy for the happy, artful decomposition,
before I could sink my teeth into it
kind of way.
It's also
a Gerard Manley Hopkins pear.
Glory to God
for dappled things..
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
kind of pear.
Hope to be back more.
It has been an interesting month.
Good mixed in with the soup of life.
A pinch of whatever,
tablespoons of goodness,
and some very full cups
of sadness.
best to all e.

What a beautiful new header.
I really thought at first that the pear was an actual sculpture or intentional decorative object. It's quite gorgeous. But "beauty fades, beauty passes," and I suppose it's gone now.
I hope next month will be better for you.
Hope that sadness does not linger...
Your pear is stunning.
Wishing you much love and joy.
Superb photos. I hope that the awful sadness passes very quickly, we need more joy in life!
pear of golden freckled beauty even in the midst of your decay. so like life filled with beauty and ugly, laughter and sadness, light and dark, color and gray.
hugs,
jackie
I also love your new header.
I was hoping that the cleaning you posted about a month ago was all that was going on. Sorry it hasn't been a good month, Ellen. Thinking of you.
What a stylish way to go! Lovely photos. I hope this new month is kinder on you.
Finding joy in the little things is also what makes me able to cope with the bigger, less joyfull times in life. Earthly beauty is a gift - and I guess the ability to see and enjoy it is a gift too.
