Mmmmmm....Baked Doughnuts...

Boiled my own cider.
Went crazy for the wonderful aroma in the house.
Boiling cider takes hours.
The cider was delish..the baked doughnuts
so, so......but worth the drifts of warmth and
delicious scents on the late fall day.
What could be better than the wood stove, the scent of cider,
Jane Austen and furry big dogs?
(Well, maybe fried doughnuts.)
Or donuts as some prefer...
Best to all, e.

Jane Austen makes any day better.

I've often wondered whether baked doughnuts were worth trying. I think that sometimes you just have to heat up the fat and throw dietary caution to the winds.

Oh, my, Ellen. That picture makes my mouth water.

I have a recipe for baked doughnuts that's delicious. You know why? Because after they're baked, you dip them in melted butter and roll them in cinnamon sugar. Might as well fry them!
